Unique Connections

From beginning to end, the 2025 TLPC was filled with unique opportunities for our trainees to engage with and build important relationships with the profession and members of Tasmania’s judiciary and magistracy.

Our trainees started the year participating in the formal “Opening of the Legal Year” ceremonies, involving an ecumenical service at the beautiful St Davids Cathedral, and then attending the Judges Breakfast where trainees met, and chatted with members of the profession and the judiciary in a more informal setting.

Our annual TLPC Cocktail Party in March is also an important event in the TLPC calendar. This event, hosted by our Centre for Legal Studies Board, provides an opportunity to thank the broader profession for their longstanding support and involvement in the TLPC, and to encourage the profession and our trainees to mingle in an informal setting.

The TLPC also enjoys strong connections to the Law Society of Tasmania Early Career Lawyers (ECL) Committees across the State. In addition to being hosted by both the Northern and North Western ECL Committee for a tour of firms and legal organisations to hear about employment opportunities in the north, we hosted social functions involving the Southern ECL Committee members and early career lawyers. These functions help our trainee lawyers to build strong connections and supportive relationships to assist them as graduate lawyers as they navigate the early stages of their legal career.
